DNA RESULTS ARE IN

The results are in and I am disappointingly homogenous. It’s the people of bad food, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, English. With bits of French, Belgian and a light dusting of German. I am 7% Dutch which will account for my love of hot chips.

I have no idea what I am doing here but have some excellent books to help me along the way.

Firstly I have The Family History Book which is specific to researching Australian Heritage and has so far been fantastic. It shows you where in Australia to research and what to look for.

I have Research Like a Pro which shows a methodology for researching. It is US focussed but the its the technique which will prove the most helpful.

I have Research Like a Pro with DNA which is by the same people as above which I will need to dip into now I have the results.

And a bonus book The Family Tree Scottish Genealogy Guide: How to Trace Your Ancestors in Scotland and there is one for Irish ancestors which I might grab because I am actually more Irish than Scottish.
